The constituency secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party in Bimbilla Constituency, Mr. Amos Nimotimi Tiba has debunked the publication by the that over 200 activists of the party have defected into the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Chamba and its environs in the Nanumba North District where the current Defense minister hails from. The party secretary said the party does not know any of the claimed defected members and described the story as a politically motivated one to attract the media attention that the New NDC Executives in the Constituency were working hard. How do you describe someone as party activist when the party doesn’t even know the person to be their member? The secretary asked.

The secretary therefore gave his side of the story that, one man by name Noah Sei who has nurtured his ambition of contesting as a parliamentary candidate in the upcoming NDC Primaries came home to call for support from his immediate family in Chamba and friends within the environs in the constituency and organized the familiarization meeting to popularize himself and to woo the party members termed his agenda as a defection exercise to achieve his political points over his colleagues.

NPP youth in the constituency interviewed on the alleged defection reacted that they cannot even make up a single soul from the images seen to be a colleague party member not to talk ofthey activists.

Speaking with the cross section of the constituent members in Bimbilla on the issue, the people revealed their unflinching support for the current Member of Parliament for the area cum the minister of defense. Some members recounted on how the MP has helped hundreds of the youth to secure jobs, enlistment into Security forces, paying school fees of tertiary students, supporting the needy ,personally supporting people in emergency cases by footing hospital bills and  as well as the massive development the honorable member is bringing to the area. A known NDC member spoken with revealed that though he is NDC but hon.Nitiwul is the type that they cannot afford to substitute with any other person as their MP as of now, he said come 2020 he would openly campaign for the MP to continue his good works in the area.

It is worth to note that the MP hails from Chamba the supposed town where the defection is alleged to have taken place and that has always being the strategy of NDC over the years but no any better results comes out of their propaganda actions.

Hon Dominic Nitiwul in 2016 election obtained total votes of 29,827 representing 57.73% as against his contender from the NDC who obtained 17,918 representing 34.68% meaning that, the current MP won over his NDC contender with a vote margin of 11,909, a record, the opposition the NDC is struggling to break, hence their propagation of untruths.
